1. The Devils' Plans

(1) Once there lived a Russian farmer who had three sons

Once there lived a Russian farmer who had three sons:

Simon, Tarras and Ivan.

Simon became a soldier, and Tarras became a businessman.

Ivan stayed on the farm and worked hard for his family.

Simon was very successful.

The Russian king, Called 'Czar',gave him a large farm.

However, his wife spent all their money and more.

Simon had to go to his father.

"Dear Father" said Simon,"I am one of your sons. Give me my share."

But the father replied,"It would not be fair to Ivan and his sister.

They have worked hard for what we have."

Simon said, "But Ivan is a fool. And our sister can't speak.

 

They don't need any money."

The father replied, "Ask Ivan. See what he thinks."

Ivan's reply was : "Well, let him take his share."
